Is this a Resolution?

Hello World!

Another New Year is here upon us and I have a question to ask you. Do you feel different? I don’t. But I do have plans to change this year. The last year was really tough on me and now I’m ready to fight back and be patient when it comes to drawing any swords. This year my revenge will be with love. How about you? Is there a weakness that needs to be weaned out, an area that needs to be strengthened? I have those, and I’m sure everyone has at least one. I plan on using my compassion and care for a person and situations in life to fight for what I believe in. Rather than trying to make my own path and create my own game. I am going to win at the game they want me to play.

My plan to grow stronger is simple. Cut out all the bad things.
But that is a process and a struggle that I am going to have to deal with for the rest of my life. Right now I have a laundry list of things I need to remove from my life to detox my mind and gain focus on the important things in life. I am not going to give them all to you now. But over the when I knock out one big one I will move onto another big one, same with the small ones. I plan on working on a big one and a small one together. Until that laundry list looks more like a simple reminder.
Along with things that I don’t want to do, there are things I do want to do. Likewise I am going to have to work on those one at a time. This blog is one of them and has high priority on the list.

So let’s get stated here.  My big and my small issues for the New Year.

Big

Get my money straight.
This is something that has personally been haunting me for over a year. I have tried many things to try to get quick money that became a waste of my time and of my efforts. I was a bouncer at some local bars and I tried to do in home wine parties. That didn’t turn out too well.
My goal now is to quit all the fast cash bull crap I tried and get on the phone with a financial planner and get a budget. Well I did that. Last year I worked with Balancepro.org  and called them up to figure out a budget. They helped me understand I was in a deficit and work towards cutting out some unnecessary spending. Now the Goal is to get those small debts out of the way and work on the big debts after. The problem is getting all your card companies and debt lenders on the same page as you. That is my issue. I am lazy and would rather ignore them than talk to them.
That’s not a good plan. So let’s see if we can fix that this year.

Small

Being productive in the morning.
I have a tendency to slack off and spend my mornings scrolling though Facebook and reading Cracked.com. Well I bought a daily readings book back in November and now that is part of my morning exercise.
I like it because each page has a day on it. It’s not deep complex theology, but simple inspirational reading. Each page focuses on an excerpt from a biblical chapter and it helps to remind me to get off my lazy but do what we are made to do. Which when I find out what that is, I will tell you. I started that this morning and not only read the page, but read the accompanying chapter it was from. Then I went out for a walk and decided to come in and do this blog.

Here are my big and small things I want to do.

Small

I have a book series I bought back in November when I bought the daily reading book. This is a fantasy novel I have been reading bits of it here and there but keep forgetting about it. If I set my self to it I can do it. But time is precious and It seems I never have enough of it. This might be moved to the big list as far as a task goes. But right now is small because of priority.

Big

Play my bass well. In the last year I got a bass guitar and started playing it when I got out of the hospital. I had a week off and used it. I became comfortable holding it and tuning it. But basic chords and melodies are not down yet. I have learned a couple songs by tabs but the rhythm and technique is horrible. So I still need to get back to the basics. This is one of my biggest priorities of things I want to do.
Well wish me luck. I will be back tomorrow and let you know how today has gone. I hope to do this every day. And I hope you as a reader will share your struggles and desires for the New Year. And I hope we can encourage one and another.
Happy New Year
